Could do with new facilities building but otherwise peaceful small quiet site, great walks but need a car to drive to anywhere
Visited this camp site for bank holiday weekend, whilst the facilities were dated they were clean and in good working order. However we wouldnt ever return due to the foul attitude from the owner. We were a group of families and couples we followed all the rules (no camp fires, low noise) but we were treated like we were a group of irresponsible children with no explanation.
Whilst this is a nice, spacious campsite, what has put us off from coming back was the rude, old man who I'm guessing owns the place. His attitude was unbelievable and made us feel very unwelcome, telling us to keep the noise down because there were families nearby, despite the fact we clearly had a couple of babies in tow and were considerate to other campers too.
Very spacious. Facilities were good and reasonably maintained. Big negative was the very rude owner who seemed insistent on telling our group to be quiet even though we were no louder than anyone else on the site or to tell us that we're not allowed fires when all we had out at the time was a kettle on a gas stove. Don't know if that's just how he approaches all groups of 20-30 year olds but we felt that his attitude towards us was highly inappropriate and unnecessary.
Really nice site to camp. The owners were very friendly and welcoming (which is a massive plus in my eyes). The facilities are basic, clean and everything that you really need. It's cheap and a short walk to a nice pub. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.
