Nice hotel for an overnight stay. Good cocktails 4-7 before dinner and the wine selection was good too
Great staff, clean and comfortable. I had the sea bass which was on the specials board. Superb!
Beautiful hotel, spacious rooms well presented. Friendly staff and very warm & detailed welcome at reception. Ok also are in the restaurant. Well presented meals and tasty food. Steak was a little over cooked but still delicious. A bonus as it's literally opposite the train station and a short 3 minute walk to the town center
Not bad but drinks overpriced. Just had our Christmas party there - the food was nice although you were brought a plate of food- you got what you were given and no opportunity to select your own veg, gravy, etc. Obviously done to keep labour costs down but to me if they want to charge five star prices it shouldn't be three star service. So those drinks - everything seems to have at least a four-fold margin e.g. 5 bottle of wine costing over 20, Heineken alcohol free 2.65. I guess this explains why it wasn't busy. DJ was good though - he managed to keep the dance floor full!
One of the most shocking hotel visits ever - it was sleeping above a night club. Arrived late the first night and there was a function on below our room - we could hear every song and the DJ. Went on till 1am. They said they had no other rooms so we said we'd leave the next day and not pay. 5 minutes later they'd found another room for the 2nd night (yes, there was another function). It was a bit better, across the courtyard but still very loud until late.The staff insisted we were made aware of functions when booking, but this wasn't the case - it was not mentioned at all. Anywhere. We were offered a measly 20 off (10%) and vouchers to stay again - what a joke! We'd never stay here again. As for the rooms etc, completely irrelevant when you can't sleep which is the main reason for booking a hotel. Avoid. Or a least check if a function is on!
